| President Antonio L. Correia,
Vice President Crisanto Barros and Technical
Advisor Cristina Ferreira and Eng. Antonio
Lobo de Pina who met with a delegation from
the Pan African University visiting Cape Verde,
consummated a strategic partnership between
the two universities. Both parties agreed
on the following: |
| |
- Developing joint post-bachelor and
graduate courses using distance learning
education for Cape-Verdeans living in
Cape Verde and overseas, in areas of interest
for the economic development of Cape Verde,
such as management and public affairs,
engineering, computer sciences, health,
agriculture, mari-culture, etc.
- Developing joint English language courses
(technical English intensive course, English
for translation and interpretation) using
distance learning education.
- A partnership to create online libraries
(with support for the compilation, managing
and diffusion of scientific material concerning
Cape Verde and Cape Verde’s interest,
and also for the scientific community
that studies Cape Verde).
- Developing scientific cooperation programs
between Cape Verdean teachers and Cape
Verdean teachers in the Diaspora and in
other countries.
- Identifying and developing joint cooperation
projects on distance learning education
that both parties feel useful.
- Both parties also agreed that this
strategic partnership will include the
implementation of two pilot projects—one
in the field of technical English and
the other on computer sciences.

methodology is the goal of the university and is
a mix of online learning and face to face classes
and seminars. The worldwide growth and success of
students and faculty using the Internet to learn
and teach has grown tremendously over the past 10
years. Universities and colleges throughout North
America and Europe have paved the way for the delivery
of blended models of education that focus on the
individual learner. |
