The African Union
The advent of the African Union (AU) can be described as an event of great magnitude in the institutional evolution of the continent. On 9.9.1999, the Heads of State and Government of the Organization of African Unity issued a Declaration (the Sirte Declaration) calling for the establishment of an African Union, with a view, inter alia, to accelerating the process of integration in the continent to enable it play its rightful role in the global economy while addressing multifaceted social, economic and political problems compounded as they are by certain negative aspects of globalization. The main objectives of the OAU were, inter alia, to rid the continent of the remaining vestiges of colonization and apartheid; to promote unity and solidarity among African States; to coordinate and intensify cooperation for development; to safeguard the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Member States and to promote international cooperation within the framework of the United Nations. http://www.africa-union.org/

The World Bank
The World Bank is a vital source of financial and technical assistance to developing countries around the world. We are not a bank in the common sense. We are made up of two unique development institutions owned by 184 member countries—the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and the International Development Association (IDA). Each institution plays a different but supportive role in our mission of global poverty reduction and the improvement of living standards. The IBRD focuses on middle income and creditworthy poor countries, while IDA focuses on the poorest countries in the world. Together we provide low-interest loans, interest-free credit and grants to developing countries for education, health, infrastructure, communications and many other purposes. http://www.worldbank.org/

Official Website of the League of Arab States
By the end of the millennium, the League of Arab States celebrated its 55th anniversary; which postdated the emergence of an Arab Regional system, assuming a unique character, which has then become a distinctive and indispensable characteristic, namely: the national quality.
However, the Arab League's membership has expanded as from seven Arab Member States, (forming a total number of independent Arab countries during the mid- forties) so as to reach 22 Arab Member States (forming the total number of Member States in the Arab Regional System). Actually, the LAS has passed through several stages of development and was contemporaneous with several numerous attempts for its re-structuring. These stages and attempts reflect the efforts exerted to modernize the same Arab Regional Regime. www.arableagueonline.org/
